Mitch Albom: Tuesdays with Morrie

I have just finished reading “Tuesdays with Morrie” by Mitch Albom.

And I must agree that this is indeed a great book. Best book that I have read. Most of his books contains stories that touches our heart. And this book is about his old professor whom he has not seen for 16 years and was united after watching a show which features Morrie Schwartz because he’s suffering from ALS, a disease with no cure and he knows it (he just knew when he’s going to die) and on his philosophy on life and things around. They have their last lessons over 14 weeks, whereby the 14th week is to say Good Bye to someone dearly; to Morrie Schwartz that is, on life. They were close even when Mitch Albom was studying in collage, in his sociology class. They chat like old friends, they share and surprisingly, everything was done on Tuesday. So Morrie says they are the tuesday people. Many a times, we took things for granted, even though we know it’s wrong. Many a times, we are confused over the things we want and the things we need. Owning a car is not a need, it’s something we want. Says Morrie. True enough. Everyday, we wake up and look into the mirror, feeling sorry for ourselves over nothing. Death is not the end, it’s also the beginning (this is what I have read in “5 People You Meet In Heaven” By Mitch Albom). For instance, I was upset over what happened at work yesterday, thus i took Bi‘s care and concern towards me for granted. I ignored him, only reply his SMS. Even though he told me he’s feeling down and can’t get to sleep and most importantly he wants to talk to me, i refused. I hang up his calls. And I feel bad after that. I promised I will think over my actions before execute it. And as for the movie that they failed to jio me, forget about it. It’s not the first time anyways. We could have watched it last Friday, because Evelyn says lidat we pang seh Kerine, so we dropped that idea. In return, they pang seh me. Whatever. Really. Morrie says, you must learn to forgive others as well as forgive yourself. Very true.

I will recommend you guys to read this book as it’s filled with meaning. Quote: When you are sleeping at night, you are dead. When you wake up in the morning, you feel reborn again! That’s what I’m being taught when I read this book. Quote: Love each other or perish!”.
