The Last of 2023

Time passed and it’s coming to the end of 2023.

What have I achieved so far?

I have changed my job last year and now I have been working in Singapore Institute of Management for almost 2 years (2 more months to 2 years). Life has been good to me. We went for a few holidays, Japan in May, Taiwai in August, Europe in November/December and ended my holidays by attending a wedding in Hanoi.

Let’s probably begin sharing from beginning of the year?

Home Improvement Program (HIP) took place in Mar/Apr’23 and we had to move our cats to our friends’ house because it’s gonna be dirty and dusty at home. And thank God for their help, we managed to get through the difficult part. Totally in love with the new kitchen!

New kitchen! 😍

We went to Japan for 10 days during the HIP. And it’s been awhile since we went for a holiday since COVID. We spent a good 10 days in Tokyo.

1) Went to have our Ichiran Ramen

2) Went to Hakone

3) Went to TeamLab Planets

4) Went to Monster Hunter Cafe

5) Went to Mipig Cafe

6) Went to Disneyland

And other many other places! And also we made a new friend in the homestay we were staying.

Work has been busy and I am in the Recreational Committee this year. And we planned for the SIM Family Day. This year we went to the new opened Bird Paradise!

Bird Paradise Waterfall

Maiden trip with Vivien to Taipei! This time is to catch Hebe Tien’s concert! So glad that we managed to get her concert ticket! We had truly enjoyed ourselves with the eating and shopping although it was a short trip.

Celebrated my birthday with my favourite people! 😘πŸ₯°

My ex-colleagues from NUS ISS and my lgg~

Then it’s our long awaited Europe trip! It’s filled with excitement, anxiety, fun and laughter! Seeing snow for the first time, and it became our nightmare when the train was disrupted, day trip to the Disney castle cancelled because of the road condition and we almost couldn’t make it to Salzburg due to train disruption.

Took Business Class for the first time! I couldn’t ask for more. It was the best experience I had (except when the yoghurt splashed onto my clothes and hair) and there is a hole in the luggage. Experienced snow for the first time and of course we gotta build a snowman!
There were many people at the train station waiting for the train to Salzburg. But sadly, the train was cancelled the whole day, and we have to make a last minute hotel reservation nearby the train station so we can rest for the night and make plan on the alternative route to Salzburg. Thank God! We managed to book a bus (but we have to split into 2 groups because of the limited number of bus tickets)
No photos in Salzburg because we were literally there for a night, and we moved on to St Anton the next day. We were in luck when we were told there will be a Devil’s Parade at St Anton. It was scary and funny that we were laughing and screaming at the same time when the devil came to us and whipping us. After that, we moved on to Luzern! And a passerby came and join in our group photo! How funny is that!
Then it’s time for the mountains! Went to Mt Titlis for some spectacular view. Explore the area around our hotel and we head to Interlaken. Paragliding was cancelled due to bad weather, so lgg improvised his own paragliding. And he also finally tried the cheese fondue.
Went to Lauter Brunnen and it was drizzling. So we just walk around, took some photos and head back for the day. Finally went to Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe! It’s freezing cold -14 degrees outside and the snow was like literally slapping our face and the fear of falling down the slope. But we truly enjoyed the magneficient view!
Time for another mountain! This time, it’s the Matterhorn! We almost thought we won’t be able to see the mountain because it was cloudy when we reached, and the train was disrupted due to strong wind. Lucky we had a long brunch, and by the time we wanted to leave, the train resumed again! The magneficient view of the mountain.
Moving on to Montreux and finally see the flying Santa LIVE! We went to Bern old town, it was beautiful. And we totally forgotten that bears hibernates in winter so we can only take photo with the bear figurines. And then we went to Zurich. Visited many Christmas Markets this trip. And I am loving it!

Everyone in Europe that we met are really nice! There was a guy who told me the entrance of the hotel while we were standing at the traffic light. There was a lady who offered to help us take a group photo. We are definitely very blessed. After our Europe trip, we went to Hanoi for my lovely friends’ wedding! I am so happy for them!

After touching down from Switzerland, we quickly head back home and re-pack our luggage for Hanoi. By the time we reached hotel was around 7ish pm, so we head out for dinner and a massage and then rest for the night. The next day was our friend’s wedding. And bumped into Jessie Hoo and Wankey! Stay blissful my friends! I love you guys! Thanks for having us!
Joined in the after wedding party. It was new experience (never clubbed in Vietnam before). It was always great to catch up with old friends and/or colleagues. We will probably be back in Hanoi since we spent most of the time sleeping (due to jetlag and shag-ness from the Europe trip). Then it’s back home to our cats!

Really thankful for colleagues who covered me during my long holidays. And I wish everyone best in health and wealth in the coming new year!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone out there! This year, I am in a very surprise mood! Just as I was saying laogong doesn’t really surprise me with flowers in the past years. This year, he actually did.

My favourite sunflowers!

And I have actually prepared to cook for this evening’s dinner. Because eating outside on Valentine’s day is so expensive and plus the COVID-19 situation, I think it’s best to stay home and avoid crowded places. I mean, can go out lah. Just don’t stay out too long. Or maybe, age is catching up on me. I preferred having home cooked food these days.

And I got my recipe from Pinterest, as usual. Here is the link for the Black Pepper Chicken Chop that I prepared this evening. I have marinated the chicken thighs and leg overnight because I won’t have enough time to prepared it today.

Funny thing is, I forgotten to take it out to defrost before cooking. So I only realized it, too late, when I was about to put it into the non stick pan. I know i know. Due to time constraint, I put everything (including the marinated sauce because it was sort of frozen) into the pan. I just had to cook everything slightly longer to ensure that it’s thoroughly cooked.
Black Pepper Chicken Chop

Doesn’t it looked professional cooked? πŸ˜‹ The sauce in the recipe is really thick, and I like it. I baked some potatoes and boiled some broccoli and carrot to go along with the chicken chop. For the baked potatoes, before baking, I poked some holes and brush some olive oil (I don’t use vegetable oil) and lay some aluminum foil and I baked it for about 25 mins + another 15 mins. I used a chopstick to poke it to ensure its cooked. And boiling of vegetables, are purely based on my instinct. πŸ˜‚ Plain vegetables are to compliment with the heavy black pepper sauce. And actually, today was my first time cooking this dish. I really hoped my laogong likes it.

Happy Valentine’s Day! 😘

Pre-Valentine’s Day

Just yesterday, it was my boss’ last day. So, we had a little farewell for her.

Privegrill at Shaw Foundation Alumni House
The 3 of us got her a cardigan. Some practical and useful. At least, she will think of us when she wears it. πŸ˜† I know, I am rather thick skinned. But what can you do about it?

Anyway, it’s the time of the year, where you see guys rushing to get their love ones flowers. And me? My laogong rarely buy me flower. πŸ˜… But that’s ok. I am used to it, although sometimes I will hint him for it. πŸ˜‚

That aside, I love crafting. So I made some Valentine’s day cards for my lunch kakis. Missing one, because she’s on maternity and will only be back around March/April.

Handmade cards.

The cards looked similar, but every card is unique. There is difference in coloring, placing and content. And if you are like me, and is wondering what die cutting I have used for this card, there you go! It is made from dies from ‘Stamps of Life’ – Squirrel2stampΒ + die and the word – LOVE. Last but not least, the grass patch is created from Lawn Fawn’s die cut – Grassy Border. After looking at this cards that I made, I realized that I could have made it better. Give it more shades for the grass patch etc. But there is always improvements to be made right? I hope, I will get more inspirations for projects like that.

Wall of memory

I have printed a lot of photos of us. And I really need time and make effort to decorate this wall. Once done, I think it will be another great achievement. What do you think?

And I had a pre-vday lunch with my colleagues because I won’t be seeing them tomorrow. ❀

Lunar Holiday Day 3 η™Όε•ŠοΌ

Happy Family

Day 3 of lunar new year and last day of the long public holiday. Geez. Had a rather chillax day, waking up at 1pm (cause we slept at 6plus in the morning after a night of battle with mahjong πŸ˜€ ). Watched a couple of episodes of “Sex Education” on Netflix and headed out for super late lunch. After lunch, went back home to prepare for lunch, and guess what? I cooked bak kwa fried rice (includes leftover luncheon meat and caixin). I must say my friends and Laogong are very spontaneous, they finished the fried rice (although some of them have already had dinner before coming). ηœŸηš„ζ„ŸεŠ¨εˆ°… Played a few rounds of Ban Luck and then we had lohei!

bak kwa fried rice with luncheon meat + caixin

Then we continued our Ban Luck, and great! At least I won 30 cents at the end of the game. I guess, I am really not suitable for gambling. πŸ˜€

Needle Felting

And recently, I was quite into needle felting. Have been watching quite a bit of youtube video on this. And was so intrigued to try. So I went to Taobao and bought some needle felting kit. And I must say, it’s really cheap and good. So I bought this Line Friend – Lion Brown and try. Not too sure if I did a great job, and I think it looked a bit funny with the long body. So what do you think about my 1st needle felting work?

Lunar New Year Day 2

It’s been donkey years since I have last changed the look of my blog. So I have decided that since it’s a new year, I should do something about it. πŸ™‚

I am not too sure if this look is good, but only time will tell. πŸ˜›

Anyway, it was Day 2 of Lunar New Year, and as always my family gathered and planned a visit to our Aunt’s house. And of course, a mandatory photo of us. It’s really nice to see your family growing. πŸ˜‰ And soon, my eldest niece will outgrow me (in terms of height).

They say wear ang ang bo hai lang.

After that, we went back for some mahjong and of course steamboat! What’s lunar new year without steamboat? πŸ™‚ And then me and Laogong went to my sister’s place for 2nd round of mahjong. I guess, I still don’t have the luck to play mahjong. =| But it’s all the fun we seek right?

Happy Lunar New Year 2020 from Teo Family

Happy Lunar New Year to all!

It’s been awhile since I have updated my blog, and I hope I will have more time to do so in the future.

Time passed so fast, and now we are in the year of Rat. The beginning of a new cycle. Hopefully this year will be good.

Looking back, I have changed to the new job for almost a year now. Time passed so fast. Work wise, it was good and manageable. Most of my colleagues are nice too. And it so happened that I am working with some of my ex-colleagues from PSB Academy. Such a small world!

And I am really thrilled because we finally revamped the extra room which I called Chouchou Room. No more messy room! Yay~

20200112_135208[1]
Chouchou Room

We went to Ikea to purchase the shelves and DIY-ed ourselves because it’s really waste of money to get them to fix the shelves (which is additional 15% of the purchase item price if I want them to help me fix!) Laogong helped me set up all the shelves and he also bought me a Secret Lab chair (below is the video of our noob assembly of the chair.) This room serves as a working space, and partial storeroom since we didn’t have one (previous owner teared down).

We have to reenact the unboxing because I only realized I didn’t press the record button after laogong opened the box. πŸ˜›

My lovely goldfishes

And thank you Laogong for the beautiful fish tank with so many beautiful goldfishes. He’s been supporting this new interest of mine since the beginning and I am really thankful for that.

Now our house looks so perfect, what more can I ask for?

15 June 2013-Erica’s Wedding

Erica’s married! What a happy occasion! Met so Many people from BMI. Haven’t seen them for really long time!

Bought this new toy from P.S. This is one of the character from One Piece.

image

This toy belongs to this character named Perona. Shes the ‘ghost girl’. So when her spirit touches you, you will become depress. I like that ghostly thing.Β  After that we went for the long awaited Mayday concert!

image

image

The concert is simply awesome!Β  We were given the light stick which I think have the wireless technology. The light stick changes color along with the songs! Amazing right?Β  And the concert last for 3 awesome hours! TOTALLY in love with them! And I think their concert is definitely better than Jay Chou’s!

I had a great time taking photos, using my camera andΒ Polaroid! πŸ™‚

During the holiday seasons, it’s Christmas week outing with Happy Family!

We watched “Mission Impossible” in the afternoon before meeting the rest of the people for dinner.

We had Itacho Sushi @ PS, the food is awesome! I think I am hooked on the sushi and sashimi! But be beware, you can choke up to hundreds of dollar if you didnt keep track of what you order, because the food there are really expensive, but worth the money lah. And then it’s mooweee time, Sherlock Holmes, after dinner. =]

We went prawning on Christmas Eve! And we had quite a bit of catch!

Got at least 35 prawns i think! Not bad hor~!

On Christmas, we went to church and the service is awweeeesommmeee! After church, we met up with Alan & Christine to pick up Faith and head to WenJie’s house for the christmas party~ After that they send Faith home and we head out again to Partyworld for 2 hours singing session, Thai disco and finally supper!

The next day, I met up with Arene and Jeremy for chilling session. We went for high tea @ TWG before we start work the next day, and time really flies when you are having high tea, or gossiping!

After high tea with Arene & Jeremy, I met up with my uni friends for dinner. Pity Jesslin couldn’t join us. We sort of celebrated Celest’s birthday in advance and chill out at TCC after dinner at Itacho Sushi. πŸ™‚

Finally, 2011 is coming to an end.. Thus I meet up with my girlfriends before the year ends!

The happy birthday girls! Alicia gotten her coffee machine, and Amy gotten her watch!

We had fun singing @ Partyworld! “Nobody nobody nobody but you~”, and of course polaroid-ing! Cam-whoring. Forgot to take a pic with Michelle. Nvm, we will have a chance again. πŸ™‚

And NYE, I went to Quan Yi’s house to count down with my happy family members! πŸ™‚ Had fun playing the word guessing games and massage chair~ how I miss the massage chair!

That’s all for my new year! πŸ™‚

We smell F-R-E-E-D-O-M!

I am back~ (although you know I had never left this place). I mean I will be more active from today onwards!

I have finally finished my LAST paper for this whole degree program, and I feel more relaxing (although these few days I kept thinking about studying. That’s human nature! :P)

After the paper, I went chilling with the girls except for Jesslin. Hope she will join us the next time round!

Celest and Moi

Gina and Sylvia

We went to Princep Street to chill after our exam. Went tot this italian crusin restaurant/bar for some food and drinks. Time passed very fast and then we have to head home already. Anyways, hope to meet up with the girls soon.

Very soon, we have to say good bye to the last day of October and welcome November. It’s my favourite month this year! I am looking forward to the events coming up! Not a lot, but still worth looking forward too! Hehe.

1) 12th Nov: Maritime Museum & Movenpick Hotel stay with Gina and Celest

2) My Birthday! =]

3) Lots of meet ups~
