Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone out there! This year, I am in a very surprise mood! Just as I was saying laogong doesn’t really surprise me with flowers in the past years. This year, he actually did.

My favourite sunflowers!

And I have actually prepared to cook for this evening’s dinner. Because eating outside on Valentine’s day is so expensive and plus the COVID-19 situation, I think it’s best to stay home and avoid crowded places. I mean, can go out lah. Just don’t stay out too long. Or maybe, age is catching up on me. I preferred having home cooked food these days.

And I got my recipe from Pinterest, as usual. Here is the link for the Black Pepper Chicken Chop that I prepared this evening. I have marinated the chicken thighs and leg overnight because I won’t have enough time to prepared it today.

Funny thing is, I forgotten to take it out to defrost before cooking. So I only realized it, too late, when I was about to put it into the non stick pan. I know i know. Due to time constraint, I put everything (including the marinated sauce because it was sort of frozen) into the pan. I just had to cook everything slightly longer to ensure that it’s thoroughly cooked.
Black Pepper Chicken Chop

Doesn’t it looked professional cooked? 😋 The sauce in the recipe is really thick, and I like it. I baked some potatoes and boiled some broccoli and carrot to go along with the chicken chop. For the baked potatoes, before baking, I poked some holes and brush some olive oil (I don’t use vegetable oil) and lay some aluminum foil and I baked it for about 25 mins + another 15 mins. I used a chopstick to poke it to ensure its cooked. And boiling of vegetables, are purely based on my instinct. 😂 Plain vegetables are to compliment with the heavy black pepper sauce. And actually, today was my first time cooking this dish. I really hoped my laogong likes it.

Happy Valentine’s Day! 😘

Lunar Holiday Day 3 發啊!

Happy Family

Day 3 of lunar new year and last day of the long public holiday. Geez. Had a rather chillax day, waking up at 1pm (cause we slept at 6plus in the morning after a night of battle with mahjong 😀 ). Watched a couple of episodes of “Sex Education” on Netflix and headed out for super late lunch. After lunch, went back home to prepare for lunch, and guess what? I cooked bak kwa fried rice (includes leftover luncheon meat and caixin). I must say my friends and Laogong are very spontaneous, they finished the fried rice (although some of them have already had dinner before coming). 真的感动到… Played a few rounds of Ban Luck and then we had lohei!

bak kwa fried rice with luncheon meat + caixin

Then we continued our Ban Luck, and great! At least I won 30 cents at the end of the game. I guess, I am really not suitable for gambling. 😀

Needle Felting

And recently, I was quite into needle felting. Have been watching quite a bit of youtube video on this. And was so intrigued to try. So I went to Taobao and bought some needle felting kit. And I must say, it’s really cheap and good. So I bought this Line Friend – Lion Brown and try. Not too sure if I did a great job, and I think it looked a bit funny with the long body. So what do you think about my 1st needle felting work?

It’s so sinfu (幸福)~

After contemplating for quite some time, I decided to chop away my not-so-long hair. Dearest was concerned if I am suitable for short hair,  and I told him any hair style would suit a pretty girl like me. Thick skinned I know, but who really cares about YOUR opinion whether I am pretty or not?

It was my BFF’s graudation last month, and to show my support for her.. I bought a bouquet of flowers and be the unofficial photographer for the night. Glad that I am given the chance to practice my photography skills. Need to brush up though. Not so good in taking photos with the flash. Geez.

See how my BFF is smiling from ear to ear? 🙂 Feeling happy for her!

Celebrated Siang’s birthday early this month, and his gf, Melissa, joined us for dinner and dessert. 🙂

We got him a Samsung Note 10.1. It’s a function of a tablet and a phone. How cool is it! I wish I have one too. Pardon me, I am a greedy girl who wants everything! HAHAHA.

——————————————————————————–

My God, this is my favorite chicken rice stall located in Mei Ling Food Center! I dream about it everyday. HAHA. The chicken is really tender, and the raw fish is good. And the rice’s fragrance is best among all the chicken rice I ate so far!  I had it once, and I had been wanting to eat it. Didn’t really have the opportunity to because it was kinda out of the way for me and I don’t know how to go! The both times I went, my colleagues drove there.. So if you want to ask me for direction? Totally no idea except that it’s at Mei Ling street. 😛

 Sinfu 幸福 day

Went to Paul (located next to Kinokuniya @ Ngee Ann City) for high tea during one of the Friday. 🙂

QY and I ordered some cakes to share among ourselves before the rest of the people arrive.
The high tea there is not bad (always long queue)!
But I would prefer TWG for more selection of teas but it’s not too bad (they have the common teas) and don’t worry this place have many cake selections! 🙂 I see they serve main course also. Perhaps I will go back one of these days for it’s main course. 😀

海外

The Atrium@Orchard店

Hoshino Coffee opened it’s first restaurant in Singapore! It has many branches in Japan and finally have one in Singapore! SJ recommended us this for our Sinfu 幸福 day.

This is what we ordered. It’s Japanese fusion food. It’s kinda common to have Japanese fusion food, it’s like everywhere! I think the restaurant might be best for it’s pancakes. Anyway, I had the lobster spaghetti. Taste? 3/5. Not that very fantastic, but it’s not lousy neither. Ordered the fruit pancake to be served after meal, and the fruits, to my surprise, taste horrible. But the pancake itself, taste good.
**Warn: the pancakes will take about 30 minutes to come. So if you are really hungry, I don’t think this is the best choice.

Happy Birthday~

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Tada~! I am busy almost every month making birthday cards for celebration! The word: Huai Ren (Bad Guy) are all done using the glow in the dark stars and stick together using super glue. 😀

We had a celebration 2 weeks ago, because Shun Jie couldn’t book out for the next few weekends.

So we went to Jerry’s Barbecue & Grill for dinner. It’s located at Jalan Kayu. 🙂

Root beer for the start. 😀

The must try Clam Chowder! ^^

One of my favorite! Buffalo wings! 😀

Fried mushroom! Another favorite! I love mushrooms~!

Nachos! With hot hot cheese~~~

Here comes the infamous kate Spade hang sign by TPL.

Chou chou loves to sit on someone’s head!

me & my beloved Chou Chou~ 🙂

Presenting the birthday cake! But personally I think if you wanna celebrate people you consider places that are  not crowded or have more experience in handling such situation, because the person took the WHOLE cake without putting the candles (with the cake box) and placed it on the table together with the plate. Totally sian-ed. I guess it’s because they are really busy.

His birthday present. 🙂 Chinese medicine packaging.. except it’s not pink color. 😛

Yes, we used duct tape for his present.

And, masking tape.

UN-wrapping. Takes time. 🙂

Big fan of Diablo, even the wrapper also got Diablo! Haha~ Ok, that’s actually newspaper.

Present with a nice wrapping paper. 🙂

Everyone is anticipating. Although everyone knows what’s in the box. 😀

A Sony TX55. 🙂 He’s now a happy boy!

Finally everyone is in the picture! 🙂

Celebrated his birthday last night!

Really happy to receive his birthday card. Every time he sees me, he asked me for his birthday card. Buay shy one. LOL~

The Char Siew Gohan. The guy’s favorite.

My favorite ramen~ ❤

Beautiful Thursday!

A big welcome to my new addition, my Labbit named San San. In case you are wondering, San San is actually hokkien which means skinny. 😛

Took a day off yesterday! So I decided to drop by my sister’s house to see baby Estelle! Isn’t she adorable? Anyways, we decided to head to town for lunch and my sister can do some shopping for the baby. What a relaxing Thursday!

My sister say little Estelle likes sleep in this position. Just like Alyssa when she was a baby. Or babies like to sleep in this manner? Hmmm..

On our way to town, I was told to sit in the middle since there are two baby seats in the car. And lucky me, I’m skinny enough. Do you know how much space was left when you have two baby seats at the back? Haha!

She’s soundly asleep.

High tea at TWG~ I am not a tea person but the tea there is nice! Unlike the one I had in Taipei. The one I had in Taipei is chinese tea, the one I had in TWG is more English tea. Which one is better? I think it’s all about preference! And I think both is fine. The different thing about chinese and English tea is, Chinese you brew the tea yourself and you enjoy the process of doing it. I had my fun brewing my own tea when we went up to Mao Kong (猫空) to enjoy the scenery and the breeze. Totally different experience all together. 😀

And now my sister wants to play Patapon. She say the music is irritating but then once you start playing, the music just imprint into your mind and makes you think about it. Haha!

Some warm chocolate cake with ice cream (tea flavour) on top. Not too bad, but you might consider sharing because the chocolate is very thick!

Jie Fu had this muffin.

There is no place without Chou Chou. 😀

See this little baby still sleeping thru out the lunch till high tea session! 🙂

Me & my sister!

And our day just end here. Fast isn’t it? Time passed so fast and then it’s time for us to go home because they have to fetch Alyssa from the child care center. It’s really cool to spend time like this; just by doing nothing! No places to rush, no assignments to do (ok, I do have and it’s due on next Monday!!) and relax! But it’s also time to come back to reality – WORK and STUDY. Really can’t wait for December to come; that is if our Hong Kong trip is confirmed (nothing is confirmed until you buy the plane ticket!!).

And then I went to meet bf for dinner. Steamboat at Roxy Square basement one. Not too bad, but it’s not buffet. With air con and the space, I think it’s still not too bad. The chicken soup is good, the tom yum is not spicy, that’s why the bf insisted on eating this. Tom yum is my favourite. 😀
