The Last of 2023

Time passed and it’s coming to the end of 2023.

What have I achieved so far?

I have changed my job last year and now I have been working in Singapore Institute of Management for almost 2 years (2 more months to 2 years). Life has been good to me. We went for a few holidays, Japan in May, Taiwai in August, Europe in November/December and ended my holidays by attending a wedding in Hanoi.

Let’s probably begin sharing from beginning of the year?

Home Improvement Program (HIP) took place in Mar/Apr’23 and we had to move our cats to our friends’ house because it’s gonna be dirty and dusty at home. And thank God for their help, we managed to get through the difficult part. Totally in love with the new kitchen!

New kitchen! ๐Ÿ˜

We went to Japan for 10 days during the HIP. And it’s been awhile since we went for a holiday since COVID. We spent a good 10 days in Tokyo.

1) Went to have our Ichiran Ramen

2) Went to Hakone

3) Went to TeamLab Planets

4) Went to Monster Hunter Cafe

5) Went to Mipig Cafe

6) Went to Disneyland

And other many other places! And also we made a new friend in the homestay we were staying.

Work has been busy and I am in the Recreational Committee this year. And we planned for the SIM Family Day. This year we went to the new opened Bird Paradise!

Bird Paradise Waterfall

Maiden trip with Vivien to Taipei! This time is to catch Hebe Tien’s concert! So glad that we managed to get her concert ticket! We had truly enjoyed ourselves with the eating and shopping although it was a short trip.

Celebrated my birthday with my favourite people! ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿฅฐ

My ex-colleagues from NUS ISS and my lgg~

Then it’s our long awaited Europe trip! It’s filled with excitement, anxiety, fun and laughter! Seeing snow for the first time, and it became our nightmare when the train was disrupted, day trip to the Disney castle cancelled because of the road condition and we almost couldn’t make it to Salzburg due to train disruption.

Took Business Class for the first time! I couldn’t ask for more. It was the best experience I had (except when the yoghurt splashed onto my clothes and hair) and there is a hole in the luggage. Experienced snow for the first time and of course we gotta build a snowman!
There were many people at the train station waiting for the train to Salzburg. But sadly, the train was cancelled the whole day, and we have to make a last minute hotel reservation nearby the train station so we can rest for the night and make plan on the alternative route to Salzburg. Thank God! We managed to book a bus (but we have to split into 2 groups because of the limited number of bus tickets)
No photos in Salzburg because we were literally there for a night, and we moved on to St Anton the next day. We were in luck when we were told there will be a Devil’s Parade at St Anton. It was scary and funny that we were laughing and screaming at the same time when the devil came to us and whipping us. After that, we moved on to Luzern! And a passerby came and join in our group photo! How funny is that!
Then it’s time for the mountains! Went to Mt Titlis for some spectacular view. Explore the area around our hotel and we head to Interlaken. Paragliding was cancelled due to bad weather, so lgg improvised his own paragliding. And he also finally tried the cheese fondue.
Went to Lauter Brunnen and it was drizzling. So we just walk around, took some photos and head back for the day. Finally went to Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe! It’s freezing cold -14 degrees outside and the snow was like literally slapping our face and the fear of falling down the slope. But we truly enjoyed the magneficient view!
Time for another mountain! This time, it’s the Matterhorn! We almost thought we won’t be able to see the mountain because it was cloudy when we reached, and the train was disrupted due to strong wind. Lucky we had a long brunch, and by the time we wanted to leave, the train resumed again! The magneficient view of the mountain.
Moving on to Montreux and finally see the flying Santa LIVE! We went to Bern old town, it was beautiful. And we totally forgotten that bears hibernates in winter so we can only take photo with the bear figurines. And then we went to Zurich. Visited many Christmas Markets this trip. And I am loving it!

Everyone in Europe that we met are really nice! There was a guy who told me the entrance of the hotel while we were standing at the traffic light. There was a lady who offered to help us take a group photo. We are definitely very blessed. After our Europe trip, we went to Hanoi for my lovely friends’ wedding! I am so happy for them!

After touching down from Switzerland, we quickly head back home and re-pack our luggage for Hanoi. By the time we reached hotel was around 7ish pm, so we head out for dinner and a massage and then rest for the night. The next day was our friend’s wedding. And bumped into Jessie Hoo and Wankey! Stay blissful my friends! I love you guys! Thanks for having us!
Joined in the after wedding party. It was new experience (never clubbed in Vietnam before). It was always great to catch up with old friends and/or colleagues. We will probably be back in Hanoi since we spent most of the time sleeping (due to jetlag and shag-ness from the Europe trip). Then it’s back home to our cats!

Really thankful for colleagues who covered me during my long holidays. And I wish everyone best in health and wealth in the coming new year!

Pre-Valentine’s Day

Just yesterday, it was my boss’ last day. So, we had a little farewell for her.

Privegrill at Shaw Foundation Alumni House
The 3 of us got her a cardigan. Some practical and useful. At least, she will think of us when she wears it. ๐Ÿ˜† I know, I am rather thick skinned. But what can you do about it?

Anyway, it’s the time of the year, where you see guys rushing to get their love ones flowers. And me? My laogong rarely buy me flower. ๐Ÿ˜… But that’s ok. I am used to it, although sometimes I will hint him for it. ๐Ÿ˜‚

That aside, I love crafting. So I made some Valentine’s day cards for my lunch kakis. Missing one, because she’s on maternity and will only be back around March/April.

Handmade cards.

The cards looked similar, but every card is unique. There is difference in coloring, placing and content. And if you are like me, and is wondering what die cutting I have used for this card, there you go! It is made from dies from ‘Stamps of Life’ – Squirrel2stampย + die and the word – LOVE. Last but not least, the grass patch is created from Lawn Fawn’s die cut – Grassy Border. After looking at this cards that I made, I realized that I could have made it better. Give it more shades for the grass patch etc. But there is always improvements to be made right? I hope, I will get more inspirations for projects like that.

Wall of memory

I have printed a lot of photos of us. And I really need time and make effort to decorate this wall. Once done, I think it will be another great achievement. What do you think?

And I had a pre-vday lunch with my colleagues because I won’t be seeing them tomorrow. โค

Lunar Holiday Day 3 ็™ผๅ•Š๏ผ

Happy Family

Day 3 of lunar new year and last day of the long public holiday. Geez. Had a rather chillax day, waking up at 1pm (cause we slept at 6plus in the morning after a night of battle with mahjong ๐Ÿ˜€ ). Watched a couple of episodes of “Sex Education” on Netflix and headed out for super late lunch. After lunch, went back home to prepare for lunch, and guess what? I cooked bak kwa fried rice (includes leftover luncheon meat and caixin). I must say my friends and Laogong are very spontaneous, they finished the fried rice (although some of them have already had dinner before coming). ็œŸ็š„ๆ„ŸๅŠจๅˆฐ… Played a few rounds of Ban Luck and then we had lohei!

bak kwa fried rice with luncheon meat + caixin

Then we continued our Ban Luck, and great! At least I won 30 cents at the end of the game. I guess, I am really not suitable for gambling. ๐Ÿ˜€

Needle Felting

And recently, I was quite into needle felting. Have been watching quite a bit of youtube video on this. And was so intrigued to try. So I went to Taobao and bought some needle felting kit. And I must say, it’s really cheap and good. So I bought this Line Friend – Lion Brown and try. Not too sure if I did a great job, and I think it looked a bit funny with the long body. So what do you think about my 1st needle felting work?

It’s been a Long Time!

Hello! It’s been awhile since I last update my blog. And I am back updating because I have gotten a new laptop (actually for a few months already, hahahah!) now! ๐Ÿ™‚

Life has been good to me thus far. What I am going to post now is gonna be a super late post, but who cares? Since it’s MY space.

WE GOT MARRIED! And our wedding was on 14 May 2017 which happened to be Mother’s Day. We held our wedding at Hotel Fort Canning, and the services provided was awesome. It was really enjoyable and great to have everyone, important to us, around. Our Emcee Ming Wei and Chanel did a great job! I would highly recommend them for weddings! And we are really thankful to all who were involved in the wedding, making it an enjoyable event. What would we do without any of you?

Pardon for squeezing so many pictures in one collage. There are simply too many photos to share, and it’s reallyย  headache to choose what to post here and not to bore people with too much photos.

Last but not least, thank you Laogong for being there when I need you. Thank you for for giving in to me most of the time. Thank you for everything. Although we have some disagreements at time, but it doesn’t mean I don’t love you or I love you less. I love you everyday, and forever.

Staycation with Love

image

Had staycation at Pan Pacific over the last weekend and I’m loving it so much! Although we checked in really late on Friday, but both of us still enjoyed ourselves. All thanks to Valerie and her help to book this room. ๐Ÿ™‚ because we had a 3 days 2 nights staycation!

image

From top left : Strawberry White Chocolate, Cookies and Cream cupcakes
Bottom left: Earl Grey cupcake and Salted Caramel cupcake

I bought some cupcakes for the staycation, and it is also my gesture to Valerie for her help to book the room. Without her help, I dont think we will have the room at affordable price. These cupcakes are from Plain Vanilla, somewhere not so near my workplace (but still walking distance). I am not a cupcake lover, but I just feel I need to buy something for the staycation! ๐Ÿ˜€

image

Valerie’s catch of the day. ๐Ÿ™‚

image

And the next day, we woke up really early, just watch yoga on tv and trying so hard to do it is just so tough! Then we went for lunch. Headed to Suntec and saw Keisuke Ramen dining, and so we give it a try. Cola Green Tea! One of my favorite drink! And it’s only available at Keisuke Ramen.

image

But the ramen there is so disappointing. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

image

To make up for that, we went to Carlton Hotel’s Tuxedo for some waffles. The waffles are not too bad, and we totally enjoyed ourselves. After that we went for a movie at The Cathay. We took our time to stroll from Cityhall to Dhoby Ghaut. ๐Ÿ˜€

image

After movie, we went to meet my girlfriends and their partner for dinner. And surprise surprise! Rebecca made it for the meet up!

image

It happened that Jolene and family was having staycation at the exact location! So some photo with meimei.

image

And these are my girlfriends whom I knew since secondary school (excluding their partners). I miss Jesslin too since she moved on to work in Shanghai but I just wanna tell everyone that I love you girls so so much! Sometimes, I wondered what will I be without you people around! And I am totally in love again. I love you people! And lets grow old together!

F.R.I.E.N.D.S

Thank God for those who are with me through the good and tough time.

image

I went to watch ‘The Guardian of the Galaxy’ alone on Thursday because I was kinda moody. And then it suddenly came to me that I should watch ‘The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ on Friday too. Since I cant be bothered to look for anyone to keep me accompany, so I decided to watch alone. Then, I received msg from JH asking me if I wanna meet him for dinner. So when I told him I’m going to watch the turtle movie, he say he will watch with me, so I booked the tickets again at The Cathay. And, I am happy to see him. After movie, Valerie called me and we met up at Plaza Singapura. Went to the acarde and I liked this Rilakkua because I think its too cute. Despite being lousy in the UFO catcher, he managed to get me one of this. Totally appreciate his effort to make me happy. After that, we went to Cineleisure, and Kelvin helped me to get the Brown on the toilet bowl. Been wanting that for quite sometime. The things that they did really made my day. I guess I would still be moody if they didnt meet me and turn my moody mood into a good one.

It’s Singapore 49th birthday today! Happy National Day everyone!

image

I spent my National Day with Kevin and his wife, Junie. Really thank them for having me over today. And also their very delicious dinner tonight. The steak, the wine and the root beer float! How can I not be happy?

image

image

They are definitely very good at cooking! See how my Guin Guin enjoyed himself?

I am doing good so far. I’m totally not upset over the fact that Wilson got a new gf. Because it’s definitely not my loss to leave him. I AM HAPPY and glad that I left him. I am no longer willing to be tied by this unhappy marriage. From this experience, I will learn and grow.

Wonderful memories of Arene Kuan

On this day, 20 December 2013, I shall remember for the rest of my life, one of my closest friend – Arene Kuan has passed away.

It came as a shocking news for me, as well as every other people who knew her too. Never thought this kind of news will come to us so soon. Too soon. Too soon till I couldn’t accept it. If I couldn’t accept it, I feel for them about how the rest of her family member dealt with this sudden death.

I first knew her when i started working in PSB Academy. We were in the same department, and very soon we were lunch kahkis along with Jeremy and a few others. Slowly, the number of people reduced to me, her and Jeremy. Then came along QY who registered as a student here, and GK who converted from P.T to F.T. Time passed so fast when I am with them. Then I got into a relationship with a fellow colleague whom I married too. Then she became my manager, so I report to her. She has been very kind and always willing to teach us things that we need to know, listening to my whatever things that I wanna say. During all these years, there are many important events of my life, ย and she were there. Supporting me, giving me ideas. Nevertheless, she’s the best mentor and friend I ever have.

image

These photos were taken in 2009 when I first joined PSB Academy. Ah Bao was her newborn baby rabbit by one of her female rabbit who got pregnant after a staycation at a pet hotel. She really took great effort to take care of this little bunny which was tiny when I first carried him. And sad to mention, Ah Bao passed away last year.

She’s the easy going kind, but it doesnt necessarily mean that you can push your limits. She’s a nice lady, if you need help she will always be there to lend a helping hand.

Catherine’s Wedding | Jeremy’s birthday

11 January 2014 – Catherine’s wedding

Catherine, my ex-colleague from PSB Academy, got hitched!

I guess, everyone has one touching, unforgettable moment of their life. And I always find these 2 moments damn touching

1) Weddingsย
From proposing, to wedding preparations to wedding speech. And I always find the wedding speech by the groom or the bride damn touching, never fail to make you tear. In the future, if my kids decided not to hold a wedding banquet, they should at least have a wedding party! Provided I have a kid.

2) Having your own kids
Although going through the labor part is tough, it’s a joy to welcome a new member to the family. A family is completed with kids. Kids bring joy to the house, although they can be really mischievous and drive you crazy!

Nevertheless, I am happy ย that she found her happiness. ๐Ÿ™‚ Have a blissful marriage, and have a baby soon! ๐Ÿ˜€

19 January 2014 – Jeremy’s Forever 24 Birthday!

It’s ่€ๆฟ’s birthday once again! It’s always a headache to think about what to buy for the person. And so, we got him a Samsung Note 10.1 2014 Edition.

Hope he finds it useful. ๐Ÿ™‚

Now that Arene is no longer with us, it’s still so weird without her. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Arene, we miss you!

Awesome week!

I had a very awesome week!

This is really heaven! Eating such delicious breakfast for dinner, I feel like I am in heaven! Haha! Ok, I know this is totally very exaggerating! But still it’s really nice. And we bought Gong Cha bubble tea after the heavy breakfast, by the time I reached home. I couldn’t move a inch anymore. Too full. ๐Ÿ˜›

Hot chocolate and hot mocha! ^^

My European breakfast. Topped with cheese, and egg underneath the cheese, surrounded by bacons. Under the eggs are my favorite mushroom! ^^

The guys had the English breakfast! It’s really filling! There is bake beans, sauage, bacon, eggs and mushrooms! ^^

Went to JB on Saturday with my besties! To do nails for my wedding this coming Saturday. First we had our lunch at a Korean BBQ restaurant!

These are the amount of side dish served. I love the kim chi, and fish cakes!

Seafood hotpot, pancake, BBQ beef, and BBQ pork. ๐Ÿ™‚

The good thing is there is someone BBQ for you. ^^

Can you imagine that this seafood hotpot is bigger than our face?! We were really shocked by this! And there’s a crab in the hotopt! And guess how much was our bill? It’s just RM187!! Can you believe it? ๐Ÿ˜›

We did our nails at Holiday Plaza. The service there is really good! Peili couldn’t go with us so she requested that we include her in this photo. LOL.

We went to massage, and lok lok for dinner! Everything is just sooooo cheap there! Cannot help it but to go again! Soon pls! ๐Ÿ™‚
