The Last of 2023

Time passed and it’s coming to the end of 2023.

What have I achieved so far?

I have changed my job last year and now I have been working in Singapore Institute of Management for almost 2 years (2 more months to 2 years). Life has been good to me. We went for a few holidays, Japan in May, Taiwai in August, Europe in November/December and ended my holidays by attending a wedding in Hanoi.

Let’s probably begin sharing from beginning of the year?

Home Improvement Program (HIP) took place in Mar/Apr’23 and we had to move our cats to our friends’ house because it’s gonna be dirty and dusty at home. And thank God for their help, we managed to get through the difficult part. Totally in love with the new kitchen!

New kitchen! 😍

We went to Japan for 10 days during the HIP. And it’s been awhile since we went for a holiday since COVID. We spent a good 10 days in Tokyo.

1) Went to have our Ichiran Ramen

2) Went to Hakone

3) Went to TeamLab Planets

4) Went to Monster Hunter Cafe

5) Went to Mipig Cafe

6) Went to Disneyland

And other many other places! And also we made a new friend in the homestay we were staying.

Work has been busy and I am in the Recreational Committee this year. And we planned for the SIM Family Day. This year we went to the new opened Bird Paradise!

Bird Paradise Waterfall

Maiden trip with Vivien to Taipei! This time is to catch Hebe Tien’s concert! So glad that we managed to get her concert ticket! We had truly enjoyed ourselves with the eating and shopping although it was a short trip.

Celebrated my birthday with my favourite people! 😘🥰

My ex-colleagues from NUS ISS and my lgg~

Then it’s our long awaited Europe trip! It’s filled with excitement, anxiety, fun and laughter! Seeing snow for the first time, and it became our nightmare when the train was disrupted, day trip to the Disney castle cancelled because of the road condition and we almost couldn’t make it to Salzburg due to train disruption.

Took Business Class for the first time! I couldn’t ask for more. It was the best experience I had (except when the yoghurt splashed onto my clothes and hair) and there is a hole in the luggage. Experienced snow for the first time and of course we gotta build a snowman!
There were many people at the train station waiting for the train to Salzburg. But sadly, the train was cancelled the whole day, and we have to make a last minute hotel reservation nearby the train station so we can rest for the night and make plan on the alternative route to Salzburg. Thank God! We managed to book a bus (but we have to split into 2 groups because of the limited number of bus tickets)
No photos in Salzburg because we were literally there for a night, and we moved on to St Anton the next day. We were in luck when we were told there will be a Devil’s Parade at St Anton. It was scary and funny that we were laughing and screaming at the same time when the devil came to us and whipping us. After that, we moved on to Luzern! And a passerby came and join in our group photo! How funny is that!
Then it’s time for the mountains! Went to Mt Titlis for some spectacular view. Explore the area around our hotel and we head to Interlaken. Paragliding was cancelled due to bad weather, so lgg improvised his own paragliding. And he also finally tried the cheese fondue.
Went to Lauter Brunnen and it was drizzling. So we just walk around, took some photos and head back for the day. Finally went to Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe! It’s freezing cold -14 degrees outside and the snow was like literally slapping our face and the fear of falling down the slope. But we truly enjoyed the magneficient view!
Time for another mountain! This time, it’s the Matterhorn! We almost thought we won’t be able to see the mountain because it was cloudy when we reached, and the train was disrupted due to strong wind. Lucky we had a long brunch, and by the time we wanted to leave, the train resumed again! The magneficient view of the mountain.
Moving on to Montreux and finally see the flying Santa LIVE! We went to Bern old town, it was beautiful. And we totally forgotten that bears hibernates in winter so we can only take photo with the bear figurines. And then we went to Zurich. Visited many Christmas Markets this trip. And I am loving it!

Everyone in Europe that we met are really nice! There was a guy who told me the entrance of the hotel while we were standing at the traffic light. There was a lady who offered to help us take a group photo. We are definitely very blessed. After our Europe trip, we went to Hanoi for my lovely friends’ wedding! I am so happy for them!

After touching down from Switzerland, we quickly head back home and re-pack our luggage for Hanoi. By the time we reached hotel was around 7ish pm, so we head out for dinner and a massage and then rest for the night. The next day was our friend’s wedding. And bumped into Jessie Hoo and Wankey! Stay blissful my friends! I love you guys! Thanks for having us!
Joined in the after wedding party. It was new experience (never clubbed in Vietnam before). It was always great to catch up with old friends and/or colleagues. We will probably be back in Hanoi since we spent most of the time sleeping (due to jetlag and shag-ness from the Europe trip). Then it’s back home to our cats!

Really thankful for colleagues who covered me during my long holidays. And I wish everyone best in health and wealth in the coming new year!

It’s been a Long Time!

Hello! It’s been awhile since I last update my blog. And I am back updating because I have gotten a new laptop (actually for a few months already, hahahah!) now! 🙂

Life has been good to me thus far. What I am going to post now is gonna be a super late post, but who cares? Since it’s MY space.

WE GOT MARRIED! And our wedding was on 14 May 2017 which happened to be Mother’s Day. We held our wedding at Hotel Fort Canning, and the services provided was awesome. It was really enjoyable and great to have everyone, important to us, around. Our Emcee Ming Wei and Chanel did a great job! I would highly recommend them for weddings! And we are really thankful to all who were involved in the wedding, making it an enjoyable event. What would we do without any of you?

Pardon for squeezing so many pictures in one collage. There are simply too many photos to share, and it’s really  headache to choose what to post here and not to bore people with too much photos.

Last but not least, thank you Laogong for being there when I need you. Thank you for for giving in to me most of the time. Thank you for everything. Although we have some disagreements at time, but it doesn’t mean I don’t love you or I love you less. I love you everyday, and forever.

H.A.P.P.I.N.E.S.S

It’s not easy to stay happy everyday, every moment of our lives.

There are ups and downs, happy and sad moments. Moments for celebration and moments to mourn.

Sometimes, we tend to dwell more into our sadness than happiness. I admitted that sometimes I have been dwelling so much on the negative side that I almost forgot that I have happiness by my side.

Sometimes, I can’t tell if I am optimistic person or a pessimistic person. Then this came into my thought:

No one can take your happiness away from you unless you allow them to.

How true it is. By dwelling into those sadness, I am taking away my own happiness. I have been allowing that person to take my happiness away from me.

Dwelling in unhappiness, not only makes you even more unhappy and pathetic. The worse thing could happen is it steals your chance to be happy. When I kept having those negative thoughts, I could feel the negative thought inside me are devouring me slowly. I feel like I am dying in my negative thoughts. That’s very bad. And I do sound pathetic.

Even though I was the one who made THE decision (and I don’t regret), it still keeps me pondering – WHY. Why things like that happened, why did we have to end up like this. Is it something wrong with me? Why this, why that. Such questions always linger around, never really leave me. Then I came to realize that not everything has an explanation or can be explained. But I am very scare, what if all these things will happen again in the next relationship? I know the best solution to this is: eliminate the negative thoughts!

To be honest, I feel sucky to even think about the woman moving in taking over my place and everything in the room (right) after I moved out. I have totally moved on away from this saga since it happened almost/more than half a year ago. I totally did. I probably still can’t believe that he did whatever he did to me. To think about it, I don’t think I have a place there (in that household/his heart). Ha! And I will totally remember what he said to me when I insisted on my decision, maybe not for the rest of my live because I have short term memory and I do not wanna bring such memories into my new life.

And I am so glad that I took that step, because if I didn’t, I will not have my happiness now. Some men treats women like dirt, but some men treats their women like treasure. I am sure mine will treat me like treasure. I am loving my life even better now; learning piano and what’s not. Doing things that I truly enjoy, going out with my favourite person in the world. It is very important to find a partner who can do things together, supports and encourage each other. It took me quite few years to be determined of the decision I made a few years ago. And because of this, I am happy because I think I have found that someone. And now, he matters most to me. 🙂

After finish writing this post, I feel the positive thoughts are rushing back to me. Writing about all these things does relieves me from the negative thoughts and gives me spiritual healing and I guess this is the only place I can rant out my negative thoughts. And when I read this back a few years later, I will probably laugh at this post. Hahaha!

Catherine’s Wedding | Jeremy’s birthday

11 January 2014 – Catherine’s wedding

Catherine, my ex-colleague from PSB Academy, got hitched!

I guess, everyone has one touching, unforgettable moment of their life. And I always find these 2 moments damn touching

1) Weddings
From proposing, to wedding preparations to wedding speech. And I always find the wedding speech by the groom or the bride damn touching, never fail to make you tear. In the future, if my kids decided not to hold a wedding banquet, they should at least have a wedding party! Provided I have a kid.

2) Having your own kids
Although going through the labor part is tough, it’s a joy to welcome a new member to the family. A family is completed with kids. Kids bring joy to the house, although they can be really mischievous and drive you crazy!

Nevertheless, I am happy  that she found her happiness. 🙂 Have a blissful marriage, and have a baby soon! 😀

19 January 2014 – Jeremy’s Forever 24 Birthday!

It’s 老板’s birthday once again! It’s always a headache to think about what to buy for the person. And so, we got him a Samsung Note 10.1 2014 Edition.

Hope he finds it useful. 🙂

Now that Arene is no longer with us, it’s still so weird without her. 😦

Arene, we miss you!

Bought this new toy from P.S. This is one of the character from One Piece.

This toy belongs to this character named Perona. Shes the ‘ghost girl’. So when her spirit touches you, you will become depress. I like that ghostly thing.  After that we went for the long awaited Mayday concert!

The concert is simply awesome!  We were given the light stick which I think have the wireless technology. The light stick changes color along with the songs! Amazing right?  And the concert last for 3 awesome hours! TOTALLY in love with them! And I think their concert is definitely better than Jay Chou’s!
