My new love

Happy birthday to little Faith! Her parents celebrated her 1st birthday in advance over the last weekend. And I couldn’t join in the celebration earlier because I gotta work until 14:30 hrs, but nevertheless, I reached their house about 15:30hrs. In time for some mahjong session. Can really sense the change in the way Gavin speak now. Changing for the good of course. Lesser vulgarities or perhaps no vulgarities during the mahjong session which is good. I guess it’s good to have children, they give bonding and change your bad habits. It makes the mahjong session a pleasant one. 😀 It’s still a pretty good session even though I didn’t really win. At least, I played. Had dinner at their house and the beef is good! After everyone has left, we chatted with Christine and Alan about our wedding dinner. Alan was giving us suggestions and keep telling Dearest it’s time to hold the dinner soon. Having a customary wedding dinner is a matter of time, so we might as well have it at the soonest possible time. Money is an issue, but I am sure by God’s grace, we will be able to overcome the money issues. =]

Bought something to go along with my new love! Tamron SP 70-300mm f4-5.6 VC USD lens. After many attempts to get quotations from various shops, only MS color and Orient Photo replied my email (can I assume the rest are not keen to do my business?), MS color quoted the best price ($685) whereas Orient Photo quoted me $750 for the same lens!

A big ‘kiasu’ so I bought 2 types of filter, one is CPL and another one is merely UV protection filter so it’s like DOUBLE PROTECTION for my lens. Call me ‘kiasu’ but I rather spend $100 on 2 filters than spending $700 again for the lens. That’s provided if I am really that unlucky, dropped my lens and spoil it. Anyways, CPL helps to ‘improve’ the colors of the photos while UV protects UV. Hahaha. Ok, that sounds a little rubbish and not so ‘professional’. Dearest always say ‘you are not professional so buy cheap one can liao.’. But I think this got nothing to do with being a professional or not. I mean, if I wanna get something, it’s always better choice to get the newer than buying something that’s old which perhaps after awhile you have to sell it for a lesser price, and then buy the newer one. That’s why I always seek people’s opinion when I couldn’t make a decision on which one to buy. However, because he’s not into this, he doesn’t understand WHY I always choose to buy latter. The thing is, cheap doesn’t always means good and durable. But in his own opinion, I should always get the cheaper things. He was comparing the King Koil Silk Royal Bedding series to my zoom lens. He say he rather spend the money on the bedding series than buying the zoom lens because he can sleep on it everyday, whereas I don’t take photos everyday.

Yea, this is my new love. A little on the long side. It’s a zoom lens. =]

And this is the tripod that comes with the camera. Honestly, I didnt really look at it when I got it until last night.

It’s the ball bearing one, with a little compass. How cool is it. 🙂 It’s easier to use than the old school one, and I just mount my camera + zoom lens. Double confirmed that this tripod is not very lousy. This means that I can save money on tripod! Yay~ And now, I have to spend money to buy the remote control for the shutter. Noticed that when I mount on the tripod and tried to take some picture, my focus will shift by a little bit. I supposed the remote control will solve my problem. Asking Suzy to help me with it. And yes, I can go bird park with Suzy for photo shoot! YAY~

And my first attempt using the zoom lens for the moon shoot. The one I posted on Facebook looks a little grainy. Smaller one looks better. LOL. Perhaps I will try again when I got time. 😀

That’s all for now. And I need time to post some pictures I took from Darling’s wedding a week ago. =X

20th-21st Nov: My lovely birthday celebration!

Happy birthday to me!

And as I am typing this post, my birthday is already over! I had an enjoyable birthday this year!

This year, nothing special! Just went out with Dearest after my work. We went to Marina Square for a walk, trying our luck at the Prize Stage, and no luck to get any stitch. 😦 After walking around, we took MRT to Tanjong Pagar, M Hotel, for our buffet dinner!

Reaching M Hotel, and we started eating our food! Before reaching there,  Dearest took me to the hotel for the buffet, he told me that what is ‘special’ about this buffet is, they provide a standard main course. When we reached there, we realized there isn’t much varieties. But, I enjoyed myself very much. 🙂 Thanks Dearest for everything! I am sure this birthday celebration cost him a lot of money. I’m not just talking about dinner but everything that he did for me.

That’s so sweet of him to get me a ‘flower’! That’s really nice! And I intend to bring it to the office so I can see it from Monday to Friday, sometimes even Saturday! Wahahahahaha. Love it so much. 🙂 *muacks*

Of course, I went for a little shopping. I bought some accessories for the D&D! Won’t reveal how much! Wahahaha~ And and and~ I bought my FIRST COACH bag! Didn’t really wanna get it because it’s really expensive, but Dearest say I should get it because it’s really nice! And what’s important……….. he sponsor half of the amount! HAhahaha! Feel the heartache after buying the bag, but I really like it so much! Thanks Dearest!

Celebrated my actual birthday at my house today! And Alyssa is really cute, I must say. 😀 She was trying out her parent’s shoes. While mama was preparing steamboat, me and my sister was watching a new Korean drama.

Taking some pictures with my toys, which I all love so much! 😀

My birthday cake, which became Alyssa’s birthday cake because she blew the candle. That’s so funny. I will put up the video of her blowing the candle. 😀

Dearest is so nice! He bought me a birthday present, Gucci shades that is. I have been wanting to get a shade for a long time, and nice ones… always so expensive. So really thankful that Dearest bought it for me. Hehe. =]

Whatever it is, I AM A HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRL! Don’t you agree??

Economics

Oh man, I think I am gonna fail my Economics!! Was trying so hard to study last week, but apparently nothing goes in. Damn. No point looking back now. Nothing goes into my brain these day.

Went to watch Despicable Me with my HAPPY FAMILY without Jian Hui, Huai Ren and Guan Kun.. So I supposed it’s HALF of my HAPPY FAMILY? Hehehe. Whatever it is, Despicable Me is really hilarious!

This movie is about a villian, who wants to steal everything! There was a villian competitor who steals the pyramid! So this villian, Guru, decided to steal something BIG. And that is the MOON! So it’s just so incredible. Hahaha. I like the little girl too. I just kept laughing thoughout the whole movie. And it’s touching towards the end of the movie. And the 3D effect is damn good. I love Cathay! Because they are really thoughtful. They have CHILDRED 3D SPECS loh! Cool isn’t it. It looks great on Valerie (Uncle Jeremy‘s youngest daughter). And the specs doesn’t fall off easily. I had a great time watching the movie.

Besides the little girls, I like this yellow thingy.. which I don’t know what its called. They are SOOOOO cute! I wish I could buy a toy for this. =] Maybe I shall go and hint the bf. lol.

After the movie, I head down to iOn to meet the girls to celebrate Jesslin‘s belated birthday. I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but I actually thought Darling is going Phuket on the 22nd. SO BLUR! After dinner, we went to TCC to chill for a little bit before heading home.

Another exam coming up this Saturday, and gosh, I haven’t start studying for that. I must have some discipline in order to pass. I think I’m not expecting to pass with flying colors, but I do not want to retake EXAMS. You know just how scary it is to even think about it. There is something to keep me excited, and that is……

JAY CHOU’S CONCERT THIS FRIDAY!!! WOOOOHOOOOO!

But, exam on SATURDAY!! BOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!

Alright… I think I need to stay FOCUS.

I MMS this to Dearest this morning. =] Something to perk up the boring Monday blues! Loves.
